MACHINES MADE OF SUN is an international artist collective creating hyper-sensorial experiences with hacked environmental technologies. Their work uses sensors and low-fi electronics to translate solar energy into light and sound, immersing audiences in dizzying live performance and installations that make visible the unseen forces around us.
Anchored in a d.i.y. approach, their use of light in new media highlights their desire to make manifest the fragility within the materiality of our technologies in a sensitive and feminist perspective.
MMOS are : Laura Fuchs (AR), Mecha I Oviedo (AR) and Stephanie Castonguay (CA)
"...our best machines are made of sunshine; they are all light and clean because they are nothing but signals, electromagnetic waves, a section of a spectrum...”
